Who?

Alec Hamilton is a Utah-based wildlife artist. He earned a Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2016 and spent his early career working as a graphic designer and illustrator. A lifelong fascination with the natural world eventually shifted his focus to painting wildlife. His current aesthetic is a direct result of these overlapping experiences, drawing influence from painters like Robert Bateman and John Ruthven, alongside the stylized geometry of Charley Harper and traditional folk art.

In an increasingly digital age, Hamilton takes pride in a hands-on studio practice. He approaches his work as a craftsman would, viewing each piece as a complete physical object. This means not only painting the imagery, but building the frames that house his art. For him, this tactile approach is an essential way to keep these traditional practices alive and pass them on.
