My name is Alec Hamilton, nice to meet you.

As a kid, I’d ask my parents, “What should I draw?” before covering the back of a restaurant placemat with doodles, tongue out like Michael Jordan, creating my next scribble masterpiece. Move aside kid’s menu, I needed my blank canvas! That love for drawing never went away.

I studied Fine Arts at the University of Cincinnati, but my biggest inspirations have always come from the little things: weird animals (have you seen the inside of a leatherback sea turtle’s mouth?), mid-century stamps (my favorite being a Grimm fairytale series from West Berlin), and the odd trinkets I’ve picked up along my travels. I started out illustrating wildlife and designing patches, but once I got into Dungeons & Dragons (both playing and DMing), I realized my true passion was bringing creatures to life.

Now, I focus on creating creatures that feel alive—whether they belong on Earth, in a fantasy realm, or a sci-fi landscape. I love blending realism with imagination, to make monsters that help tell a story.
